movies, movies, movies

So apparently all the little cousins of mine can’t wait to see this movie because it’s so aweeesome to them which means I’ll be taking them to go see it in a few weeks or so. Yay I just can’t wait. >_<

I have been watching a bunch of movies lately since not really into much dramas these days. I saw “21″ and “Shutter” in theater the other day because I was too bored at home and the movie theater is only like five minutes away from home. Plus I got free tickets soooo :) As you know, I’m a horror flick junkie - I watch pretty much all the creepy/gory movies from spirits to zombies to uhhh little crittery bugs that can kill. But I personally prefer more of those on the thriller & suspenseful supernatural genre than the machete-psycho-killer going around cutting up people for no particular reason.

I watched the Thai version of “Shutter” a very long time ago and there were two scenes in there that definitely gave me the creeps. So after seeing the American version, I found myself laughing at those two scenes. Don’t get me wrong, the movie is not all that horrible - it’s a heck of a lot better than many asian horror remake releases recently such as “The Eye” & “One Missed Call”, it’s just repetitive for me maybe because I’ve seen the original already. Then we have “21″, quite a fun movie but just not my cup of tea because I don’t like gambling & casinos one bit. My friend loved it though because she’s a fan of blackjack and go to AC pretty much after every paycheck. It’s all self-explanatory here. So I conclude watch these two on DVDs if you can.

Then today I got a free day because my night class is cancelled so I made it a DVD day! I watched ”Awake” and “August Rush” for lunch, a waste of time for the first and was totally mesmerized for the second. After that went out to see some cherry-blossoms and get some fresh air in the city. Then I got back home earlier and saw an interesting DVD in my little bro’s room - “The Kite Runner“. I see the book everywhere & had no idea there was a movie for it because it was on limited release, so I decided to watch it and see why the book was one of the best selling novels of recent years. Now I know why. It was such an inspirational & emotional story, I can’t explain it you just have to watch it and see for yourself. I’ve always been ignorant of wars & issues outside of the Eastern Asia zone but this movie has opened my eyes up a lot. Now I must read the book because I heard the book is even heaps better than the movie. I really need to watch more movies like this instead of the usual thrills & scares.

Oh look and here’s the trailer for the American remake of “My Sassy Girl”.
